Property Details

Set in a neighborhood where people genuinely look out for one another, this 3,648 square foot home blends character, warmth, and modern ease.

Vaulted cedar and wood post and beam ceilings stretch throughout, giving every space a natural, welcoming feel. The kitchen is thoughtfully designed with a double oven, brand-new dishwasher, built-in microwave, and plenty of storage—whether preparing a quiet meal or hosting a crowd, everything is within reach.

The layout invites connection, from the generous family room (ideal for a home theater, game nights, or a bar setup) to the wood-burning fireplace that anchors the living space. A heated 3 car attached garage adds everyday comfort, and the downstairs bar is ready for gatherings, big or small. Upstairs, the primary suite is its own retreat, designed for both function and relaxation. The oversized double shower, soaking tub, and sauna create a spa-like feel, while the mini-fridge and coffee bar add a thoughtful touch. A large walk-in closet easily fits two (or more), and the in-room laundry space makes life a little easier. Sliding glass doors lead directly outside—wake up, step onto the deck, and watch the sunrise.

The fully fenced 0.57-acre yard is a world of its own. A towering 190-year-old tree—here since the days of Abraham Lincoln—stands as a centerpiece, complete with a tree swing. Deer wander through the neighborhood, owls nest overhead, and there’s plenty of space for gardening, tossing a football, or simply taking it all in. This home has been well cared for. It has a brand-new roof (2024), a new washer, and a complete drainage system upgrade in 2020, including waterproofing, a sump pump, and a backup generator. The private well offers independence from city water, adding an extra layer of sustainability. What makes a house feel like home?

Maybe it’s the warmth of a wood-burning fire, the way sunlight filters through cedar ceilings or the sense of community where neighbors lend a hand. Just a block from the park—with ice skating, basketball courts, and a playground—this home offers a balance of connection, nature, and everyday convenience.

A note from the seller:
This house has been our home for nearly nine years, and it’s hard to put into words just how much I’ve loved living here. It’s been a place of connection, hosting friends and family, watching my kids grow, and finding moments of peace in the midst of a busy life. The backyard has been one of my favorite places. The towering, centuries-old trees feel like quiet guardians, creating a sense of calm and belonging. There’s space for everything - soccer games, a tree swing, bonfires with friends, and endless rounds of fetch with the dog. We’ve loved noticing the wildlife that is everywhere…a big buck walking down the street one evening that the kids were convinced was an elk, owls hooting at night, blue herons soaring by, bald eagles overhead. In the mornings, waking up to the birds chirping and waking up to the sunlight streaming into the bedroom has been one of our simple joys. The primary suite has been my personal retreat, a place to recharge after a busy week. The oversized shower and soaking tub, the sauna, and the view of the backyard have made it a peaceful escape. Somehow, even the kids, pets, and friends who visit always end up here, it’s just that kind of space that feels relaxing and comforting to be in. Golden Valley has made life here even better. It’s just 15 minutes from downtown but feels like a small town, where neighbors wave and look out for each other. Ours have been incredible, helping clear snow, watching pets and plants, and bringing over holiday treats, lending a hand or a cup of sugar when needed. There’s a great park (Hampshire Park) just a block away, with a playground, basketball courts, ice skating, and a walking path. We like to go on bike rides around the neighborhood and always swing through the park. Some of the moments I’ll miss most are the quiet ones - sunrises from the bedroom, sunsets at the dinner table, and the way this house naturally creates space for both connection and solitude. The only reason I’m leaving is to downsize and be closer to my kids’ new school. Otherwise, I’d be perfectly content to stay forever.
